Q: Why did you join Women in Digital?

A: Because I was excited to be a founding member in Seattle of an organization that was focused on Women. It’s rare to find professional organizations focused on Women in Seattle (I am originally from NY where there were many).

Q: What’s your specialty? What makes you tick?

A: People and Operations. I believe happy people create successful companies. Culture and Women’s Efforts are critical to corporate success and areas I’m very passionate about (Employee Development, Culture, Diversity). I’m also very good at Operations; love to solve complex problems and reconstruct process.

Q: What was your first job out of college?

A: I worked in bio pharmaceuticals in a company in Boston as a temp. I was like a fish out of water!

Q: What is the best career advice you’ve ever received?

A: Don’t ask for permission, ask for forgiveness.

Q: What can you give your fellow members of Women in Digital?

A: I have over 17 years of business experience and a track record for moving into Entrepreneurial roles as well as creating on the job learning opportunities (which are very rare opportunities in most companies – you have to go back to school for most of these opportunities). I’ve served as Chief of Staff to many Executives, so there is a lot of advice / mentorship I can provide Women who are looking to pivot in their role or grow their career. I’ve also been involved in many Women Initiatives like LeanIn.org Circles, so can give some advice on best practices, etc.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Q: What will be your first ask?” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_style=”solid” disabled=”off” border_color=”#ffffff”]

Q: What will be your first ask?

A: What are you afraid of and why?

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Q: What does digital mean to you? ” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_style=”solid” disabled=”off” border_color=”#ffffff”]

Q: What does digital mean to you?

A: Progressive, modern, fast, efficient, accessible, social, endless opportunity, AI, on-the-go

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Q: What do you think is the greatest challenge facing women today?” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_style=”solid” disabled=”off” border_color=”#ffffff”]

Q: What do you think is the greatest challenge facing women today?

A: Working for companies that respect Work-Life Balance. Many of us (including myself), want a successful career, but also have children and we’re responsible for taking care of, households to run, etc. More companies are becoming progressive / digital in their thinking about remote employees, WFH days, flexible work hours, etc. but there are still many out there that are very rigid.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Q: What do you think we can do to overcome that challenge? ” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_style=”solid” disabled=”off” border_color=”#ffffff”]

Q: What do you think we can do to overcome that challenge?

A: I think the more Women are brave, and speak up for what they need to be successful, and stop fearing the outcome “what if I say something and it impacts someone’s perception of me”, the more things will change. I’ve always been that “whistle blower” so to speak, and almost every time, it results in what I want/need or I find a community of people that are on the same page (and thus we band together to create the change).

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Q: Why do you love digital?” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_style=”solid” disabled=”off” border_color=”#ffffff”]

Q: Why do you love digital?

A: It has been life changing. It has allowed tremendous opportunity for personal and professional development for myself and many others. It has improved communications, accessibility, knowledge, learning. Life. Who doesn’t love Digital!
